Apple has peeled back the curtain further on its new wearable the Apple Watch, announcing pre-orders and shipping start next month.
The iDevice maker will offer small and large sizes of three different editions of the watch: Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition, and each will need to be tethered to an iPhone 5 or 6 device.
The Apple Watch Sport is made of specialized rubber and aluminum will go for either $349 or $399, depending on size. The Apple Watch – made of stainless steel and boasting a display “protected by sapphire crystal” – goes for $549-$1,049 for the small and $599-$1,099 for the large, with the choice of band creating the wide price range.
Finally, the Apple Watch Edition will start at the stout price of $10,000. The band is constructed of 18-karat gold around a sapphire crystal display, and several golden hues are available to choose from.
Apple Watch's launch territories include USA, UK, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, France, China, Canada and Australia. Pre-orders begin April 10th, with the product shipping date set for April 24th.
Apple originally unveiled Apple Watch this past September. We asked developers what they thought about the possibilities of developing games for the device.
