Alexandre Amancio, the creative director of Assassin’s Creed Revelations, has announced his departure from Ubisoft Montreal.
He departs to join a marketing company, Cossette, as its chief creative officer.
"Video games and advertising have many common elements. In both industries, we are always looking for new ways to engage the consumer to the brand," Amancio said, as quoted by Game Informer.
Amancio’s surprise departure comes months after Ubisoft lost a legal dispute with rival publisher THQ, which had snatched the previous Assassin’s Creed creative director Patrice Désilets.
Désilets, who appears to brokered the departure of several other Ubisoft staff, is beginning work at new studio THQ Montreal.
Ubisoft has declined to comment on Amancio’s departure.
