Online, audio and writing-focused conference seeks speakers

Austin GDC opens call for papers

Proposals for talks and roundtables are now being accepted for the 2008 Austin Game Developers Conference.

The event is largely focused around three sectors: game audio, writing for games and online games, the last of which is subdivided into five further tracks covering business and marketing, design, social networking and community, technology and services and finally virtual worlds.

“We are excited to embark on the next chapter of the Austin GDC. Our theme this year, ‘Evolve to Win’, reflects the need for developers to challenge themselves to think ahead in terms of community, online games, writing and audio for games,” said Izora de Lillard, event director of Austin GDC.

“This year’s conference program will not only reflect new trends and technology in the immediate future of digital entertainment, but also include thought leaders with unique insight towards the long term evolution of game development and the industry.”

The call for papers is open until April 14th, and the event itself takes place from September 15th to 17th at the Austin Convention Centre in Austin, Texas.
