Rebranded Kynapse tech to offer developers full source code access and remote visual debugging tools

Autodesk unveils new AI tech Gameware Navigation

Middleware giant Autodesk has unveiled the next generation of its AI tech Kynapse.

Rebranded as Autodesk Gameware Navigation, the tech has been re-made to enable developers full source code access, a more accessible application programming interface and remote visual debugging tools.

The tool also provides automatic NavMesh generation, pathfinding. path following. character and obstacle avoidance.

"All of the tools in our Autodesk Gameware product line have been designed to streamline the game making process and reduce the need for costly custom solutions to common production challenges,” said Autodesk VP of media and entertainment Marc Petit.

“With Gameware Navigation, we have overhauled our existing AI technology to make the algorithms faster and more efficient, and the API more accessible and intuitive.

"The result will be a tool that is much faster and easier to use, so programmers can spend more time on high-impact areas of development such as gameplay and design.”

Autodesk has assured current users of its Kynapse middleware that it will still offer support to developers despite the new iteration.
