Bethesda already has Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, The Evil Within 2, Quake Champions, Fallout 4 VR, Doom VFR and Skyrim VR due out in 2017. That's in addition to the already released Prey, Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind and the continued Elder Scrolls Legends rollout. But they aren't done yet!
Speaking to Youtube content creator Tek Syndicate, and picked up by VG247, the company has another game due out in 2017 that hasn't been announced yet. Speaking with Peter Hines, Bethesda's VP of marketing and PR, Tek Syndicate had every game due out this year listed before Hines slipped in the information that an unannounced game is coming (which you can see in the video below). But, Hines refused to give even the slightest hint of what the game could be.
At this stage of the year, it's likely that the unannounced game could be some kind of mobile game or extension of some kind for an existing game, possibly even a re-release or remaster. But it's certainly got us at Develop wondering what it could be. Personally, I'll take a remaster of Quake, please.
Well, it appears as if there might not be a game after all. Replying on twitter about the unexpected announcement, Peter Hines replied to the following:
I'm hoping that this was just an early slip of the tongue and that my dreams of playing Quake in HD on a console will still be realised.
