Bioshock Infinite loses two key staffers

Two top-level team members have left Irrational ahead of the studios release of Bioshock Infinite.

Director of product development Tim Gerritsen and art director Nate Wells have both announced their decision to depart the studio, which recently announced the highly anticipated game would be delayed.

Wells was a 13 year veteran of the studio, and his distinctive style left a large impact on the art-deco landscape of the original Bioshock.

He announced departure on Twitter, saying, "New Job … Details to follow."

According to Gamasutra, Wells' Linkedin profile has been altered to reflect the change, and briefly mentioned Naughty Dog as an employer, though that was quickly removed.

Gerritsen has also changed his Linkedin profile to confirm his departure.

Prior to taking his position at Irrational, Gerritsen was chairman and business director for Human Head.

Irrational's head Ken Levine also chimed in on Twitter, confirming the departure of Wells by way of announcing his successor.

"Scott Sinclair, art director of Bio1, back in the art director's chair for Infinite to bring it home," he said.

"Can't wait to show you what's cooking."
