Blizzard and Facebook have teamed up to link the former’s PC titles with the latter’s social media services.

The first step in the partnership is the integration of Facebook’s Login system with games including World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, Diablo III, StarCraft II and Overwatch.

This means that players will theoretically be able to sign up and log in with a single click by combining their Blizzard ID and Facebook profile.

That’s just the start, however, as Blizzard also confirmed plans to add Facebook’s Live API to its PC titles.

This would manifest as a ‘Go Live’ option in the games, allowing players to then livestream gameplay directly to their Facebook feed. Fans can subscribe and be notified of new streams as they happy.

“Blizzard games are best when played with friends, so it’s important to us to provide our players with features and services that make it easy and fun to share their experiences with each other,” said Gio Hunt, Blizzard EVP of corporate operations.

“We’re working closely with Facebook on this integration for Overwatch, as well as our other games, and we look forward to sharing further details on our plans as development progresses.”
