British developer d3t acquired by Keywords Studios

International technical services providers, Keywords Studios, has completed an acquisition of UK-based development studio d3t.

d3t, a Develop Award winner, is an outsourcing studio that has been developing video games for clients for the last twenty years and has expanded in to developing for VR and providing art services. It currently has one studio in the North West of England in Runcorn.

According to the press release from Keywords Studios, the acquisition will bring a greater geographical reach and client base to the company. Keywords have been making many new additions to their portfolio globally in an effort to create an all-in-one development solution pipeline from concept to support. Recent acquisitions include four French localisation companies such as La Marque Rose and engineering service GameSim.

"The acquisition of d3t complements our recent acquisition GameSim’s capabilities to extend the services, scale and geographical presence of our Engineering offering," said Keywords COO, Giacomo Duranti. "With increasing demand in the video games industry for reliable, high-quality outsourced software engineering services, we are building a strong offering to support our clients globally.

"We are delighted to be joining the Keywords Group," added d3t owner, Jamie Campbell, who will be staying with the company along with fellow owner Stephen Powell. "d3t was founded with the sole aim of being an invaluable external development partner to the games industry and other interactive sectors.

"Over the course of six years we have become leaders in the field of high-value engineering offering a professional, wide ranging service. We feel there is a great deal of synergy with Keywords’ strategy to be the very best technical service provider to the video games industry, and we look forward to our continued expansion as part of the Group.”
