Texas-based event to include new topics relating to online markets

Call for submissions goes out for GDC Online

The Game Developers Conference Online is accepting submissions from Wednesday May 19th. Submissions can be made to present lectures, roundtables, tutorials and panel sessions.

The event will take place from October 5 – 8 this year at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.

GDC Online is also intending to present specialised summit programs about advice about upcoming industry related areas such as 3D Stereoscopic Games and iPad development.

Submissions are focused on the development of titles relating to the burgeoning online and social game arenas, including social network titles, free-to-play web games, kid-friendly online titles and large-scale MMOs.

Proposed session themes include business and marketing, design, production and programming. A new “Live” track will also discuss post-launch strategies to help increase profitability and retention.

“While the name of the conference has changed, GDC Online will continue its tradition of presenting the most knowledgeable speakers to discuss the future of game development on emerging platforms utilizing budding technologies,” says event director Izora de Lillard.

“From October 5-8, Austin, Texas will be the epicenter for established developers and industry trailblazers to come together, learn, and continue to grow the connected gaming space,” she added.
