Ex-Sony, Outplay and Ripstone staff join new team headed by Colin Macdonald

Channel 4 opens publishing arm All 4 Games

Channel 4 has opened its publishing arm All 4 Games in Glasgow.

The publisher will be led by the media organisation’s games commission editor Colin Macdonald. The team includes Outplay’s Tone Brennan as executive producer, Sony’s Neil McPhillips as producer and Ripstone’s Ami Langton as PR and marketing manager. All 4 Games is still on the hunt for a product manager.

The publishing arm will provide production, product and marketing support at every stage of a game’s lifecycle. This includes advice on making appealing games, help improving sales, creation of promotional assets, QA testing, advice on business models and targeting platforms, research on emerging trends and support approaching platform holders.

Games published will also get further promotional support through Channel 4’s website and on social media. All 4 Games will operate in addition to Channel 4’s existing games commissioning operations.

The publishing arm is set to tour the UK to meet developers. It will visit:

Sheffield – October 20th
Manchester – October 21st
Guildford – November 3rd
Brighton – November 4th
London – November 5th
Newcastle – November 10th
Nottingham – November 11th
Leamington Spa – November 12th
Bristol – November 17th
Cambridge – November 18th
Dundee – November 20th

“Having got a truly first rate team in place, we can’t wait to get out there working with games developers to help them take full advantage of the explosive growth of mobile games but at the same time ensuring they are fairly rewarded and retain their IP,” said All 4 Games head Colin Macdonald.

"By offering developers unique commercial terms and the opportunity to partner with a trusted media brand, we’re confident that the All 4 Games label and the breadth of our team’s experience will help developers launch commercially successful games that win awards.”
