Chinese mobile commerce firm Aibaba has invested $120 million in to free-to-play developer and publisher Kabam.

The deal also paves the way for Kabam to have its games published in China.

“This strategic collaboration with Alibaba provides Kabam the resources, infrastructure and distribution to help bring our current and future durable franchise games to China and elsewhere in Asia and make an immediate impact,” said Kabam CEO Kevin Chou.

In 2013 Kabam reported revenues of $360m for the year. The company claims its mobile titles The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth and Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North have each made more than made $100m in revenue.
