Game goes completely free with no microtransactions

Conker’s Big Reunion cancelled as Microsoft ceases Project Spark DLC support

Microsoft will no longer continue active development on Project Spark after October 5th.

One last content pack featuring over 200 new assets will be added to the game, and the maximum terrain limit has been doubled. The Project Spark marketplace has also been removed. No more DLC is planned, which means the episodic series Conker’s Big Reunion has been cancelled.

Following the decision to effectively halt development, the title will be made completely free with no microtransactions.

Users who purchased content in Project Spark on or after July 28th or activated a retail disc from the same date will be entitled to a refund in the form of Microsoft Store credit.

“Project Spark’s goal has always been to empower creativity,” said head of Project Spark’s acquisition and engagement Rahul Sandil.

“We’ve been an incubation engine for ideas from epic to artistic and we plan to continue doing so,”. “Project Spark inspires and empowers over 200,000 creators who have shared tens of millions of custom objects, behaviours and experiences. Every day we see anywhere between 300 and 400 new games being uploaded on our platform. Our support of these creators and our communications with them will continue in an open, free and collaborative environment.”
