ZeptoLab takes to the breakfast table with pudding puzzler

Cut the Rope maker debuts new mobile title

The studio behind the highly popular mobile game Cut the Rope will release its next original game later this month.

ZeptoLab’s Pudding Monster is puzzle title that appears to be about sticking monsters together to form larger ones. Players take the monsters form the kitchen table to the city, encountering different monster species with different powers, that affect the gameplay as the game unfolds.

“We love experimenting with different themes and gameplay mechanics – and Pudding Monsters is exactly an experiment of that sort,” said ZeptoLab co-founder Semyon Voinov.

“Our fans, new and old, will recognize in this game the same quality of graphics, game design and user experience that led to the success of Cut the Rope.”

Pudding Monsters is the first entirely new game from ZeptoLab since the smash hits Cut the Rope and Cut the Rope: Experiments, which launched in October 2010 and August 2011, respectively.

Cut the Rope has been downloaded more than 250 million times and created hundreds of fans for its diminutive alien-like critter, Om Nom, that stars in the game.

The success of the game has led to licensing and merchandising lines with brands, including Sony Pictures Television, Burger King and Hasbro. A weekly, animated series, titled Om Nom Stories, also launched this fall.
