Hidetaka Miyazaki, director and creator of the acclaimed Dark Souls series, has been named as From Software’s new president.
Miyazaki joined the Japanese developer in 2004, where he created and directed both Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, RPGs that have gone on to exceed two million copies worldwide. Recently, he supervise on Dark Souls II while working on another title.
The game director’s advancement comes as part of a wide set of staff changes at the game publisher, which include Demon’s Souls producer Masanori Takeuchi taking up a senior managing director role.
These changes come shortly after From Software was acquired by the Japanese media corporation Kadokawa, which intends to expand the company’s worldwide growth potential.
