French studio takes home New IP and Use of Narrative prizes for Life is Strange

Develop Awards 2015: Two wins for Dontnod Entertainment

Dontnod Entertainment celebrated a double victory at last night’s Develop Awards.

The French studio received the gongs for both New IP – PC/Console and Use of Narrative for its episodic adventure Life is Strange.

The team thanked their writers and all the players that have supported them, as well as its publisher Square Enix, which notably released the game without making any changes. Most other publishers demanded Dontnod switched to a male protagonist.

Dontnod draws level with UK studio Creative Assembly, which picked up two awards for Alien: Isloation – Use of a Licence or IP and Audio Accomplishment. The sci-fi hit also won a third award thanks to Creative Outsourcer: Audio winner Side.

You can find the full list of this year’s winners here.

A big thanks to all our partners: UKIE and Amiqus (Gold Partners); Unity (Gold Partner and Micro Studio Award Partner); Iconicfuture (Use of a Licence or IP Award Partner); Keywords Studios (Exclusive Drinks Reception Partner); OPM Recruitment (Table Gift Partner); Develop:Brighton, Green Man Loaded, LocalizeDirect, Universally Speaking, Aardvark Swift, InnoGames and Game Connection (Event Partners).
