Ubisoft’s Montreal outfit stormed to the top of our latest Develop Studio Sales Chart thanks the release of Far Cry Primal.
The studio rises up from sixth place in January, where it was listed for Rainbow Six: Siege, and knocks last month’s most successful developer Traveller’s Tales down to second.
Elsewhere in our ranking, based on data provided by GfK Chart-Track, there were three new studios in the Top 10: Capcom at No.7 for Street Fighter V, PopCap Games at No.8 for Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, and CyberConnect2 at 9 for its latest Naruto title.
The top seven developers in this month’s chart were publisher owned, with PopCap, CyberConnect2 and Just Cause 3 dev Avalanche Studios as the only independent firms in the Top Ten.
The full Top Ten for February 2016 was as follows:
- Ubisoft Montreal
- Traveller’s Tales
- EA Canada
- Rockstar North
- Digital Illusions
- PopCap Games
- Avalanche Studios
The studios are measured by UK revenue at retail, with data provided by GfK Chart-Track.
Digital sales are not included in the calculations, nor are retail transactions made outside the UK.
