DICE 'Power Hour' sessions to focus on dev tech

Ubisoft Montreal boss, Epic's president and Insomniac leads discuss engine use at Las Vegas
Publish date:

February's DICE event is reviving its Power Hour session format for 2008, with a set of short lectures looking at the use of new technology in games.

Called 'Power Tools: The Best Way to Build Tomorrow’s Games', the session will be made up of three 20-minute talks designed to provide candid talks and serious advice on implementing third-party technology and building your own.

Ubisoft Montreal boss Yannis Mallat (discussing how the studio decided to build/licence tech for its next-gen titles), Epic Games' Mike Capps (looking at Unreal Engine 3) and Insomniac Games' Andy Burke and Mike Acton (talking Cell development) are already announced as taking part.

DICE takes place from February 6th to 8th, 2008 in Las Vegas.
