Digini, creators of the Blade 3D XNA engine, and Chinese outsourcer Vyk Games have combined forces to form a new company, Blade Games.

Pitching itself as a 'new breed of integrated solution provider', the new company will continue to offer its Windows and Xbox 360 engine, with Vyk's studios in Shanghai and Nanjin providing a constant stream of assets through the Blade 3D Marketplace.

“As an industry, we must constantly create better tools and more efficient ways to build games," said Tony Garcia, former CEO of Digini and CEO of the new outfit.

"Our merger is a major step in this direction. It provides every type of game developer, from the teenager in his bedroom to the largest studio, a comprehensive tool set and digital asset library not previously available.”

Tom Sperry, former CEO of Vyk and new president of Blade Games, added: “We look forward to continuing our leadership position in the games outsourcing space while changing the accessibility of game development by using our combined strengths for a one-stop solution that serves the needs of the entire video game industry.”
