Attila video also uses Realtime's new character animation pipeline

Dimensional Imaging and RealtimeUK team up for Total War trailer

The announcement trailer for Creative Assembly’s latest Total War title is the result of both Scottish firm Dimensional Imaging and Manchester-based CG studio RealtimeUK.

The two companies teamed up to create the first footage for Total War: Atilla, which you can check out below.

The trailer uses DI’s facial performance capture technology, and Realitime’s new lifelike character animation pipeline. It was first shown at the game’s announcement in London in September.

"We were delighted to be involved in a project of this calibre with RealtimeUK," said DI CEO Colin Urquhart. "We knew the quality of production they were looking for and were confident that our 4D system and software could deliver the high-fidelity facial animation required."

RealtimeUK MD Tony Prosser added: "The Attila Total War announcement trailer really focuses on the facial performance of the Atilla character we developed. It was therefore essential that we obtained the highest quality of facial performance capture available.

"Dimensional Imaging were the obvious choice. Having worked with them previously, we already knew that their DI4D Pro System provides the highest fidelity data available without impacting on the actor’s ability to perform."
