Dontnod’s Life is Strange triumphs at Games for Change awards

Life is Strange has walked away the biggest winner of this year’s Games for Change awards.

Dontnod’s acclaimed episodic title received top honours as Game of the Year at the event dedicated to celebrating projects focused on exploring social and educational agendas.

It was also recognised as the title with the Most Significant Impact.

Elsewhere, Plethora Project’s Block’hood was named as the title with Best Gameplay, while WeWantToKnow’s DragonBox Numbers was singled out as Best Learning Game – a category new for this year’s ceremony.

The accolade for Most Innovative title went to That Dragon, Cancer, an autobiographical title based on the four-year battle of the developers’ son with cancer.

Mary Flanagan, founder of games research outlet Tiltfactor and games designer, was awarded with the Vanguard Award for her influence on the next generation of socially-motivated developers.
