Capcom is to develop a sequel to fantasy RPG Dragon’s Dogma as the game becomes a “major franchise” for the studio, it has revealed.
The publisher revealed that the title had shipped more than one million copies since its release last month, the 55th Capcom game to surpass the landmark.
Dragon’s Dogma also became the fastest selling new IP in the last decade in Japan, selling 302,040 copies in its first week.
The company stated it hoped the title would become “another pillar of earnings” alongside title’s such as Monster Hunter, and that the game was set to be a “major franchise” for the studio.
