Dutch developer Game Oven will close its doors in April after three and a half years.

The three-person studio, consisting of Adriaan de Jongh, Eline Muijres and Bojan Endrovski, said it had become increasingly difficult to retain its artistic freedom given the financial pressures of supporting three full-time staff as well as contractors in various disciplines.

It added it would continue supporting its titles Fingle, Bam fu and Jelly Reef, but it would take Friendstrap off all stores at the end of January.

"This pressure removed much of the creative downtime we needed and gave us less and less time to think about new games or to make new prototypes," read a statement.

"This ultimately left us where we are today, at a point where we are in need of another vision for a beautiful game, but where we don’t have one, and don’t have the financial resources to find one and make one."
