Ubisoft has kicked off its E3 press conference with a surprise sequel for South Park: The Stick of Truth.
Taking to the stage in Los Angeles, showrunners Trey Parker and Matt Stone admitted they originally planned not to make games again, but enjoyed The Stick of Truth so much that they were keen to work on another.
The new game, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, is being developed by Ubisoft San Francisco, which takes over development from Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind the original.
This time, the action is themed around the characters’ superhero alter-egos, including Cartman’s Batman-like The Coon and Butters’ supervillain Professor Chaos.
A glimpse of the game was shown to attendees, with Butters announcing that the game is available for pre-order now.
No other details were given but it’s safe to assume this is for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and runs on the same engine and mechanics as Stick of Truth.
