Golf franchise will no longer feature game's biggest start

EA and Tiger Woods part ways

EA Sports and Tiger Woods have ended their partnership that branded PGA Tour games with the golf superstar’s likeness.

The fifteen-year partnership began in 1998 and continued on through the period of scandals that rocked his career in 2009.

EA stood by Woods, but began featuring other golf stars on box art while also playing up the prominence of The Master’s course.

The company broke the news of the split as part of an update on its upcoming next-gen golf games.

“EA SPORTS and Tiger Woods have also made a mutual decision to end our partnership, which includes Tiger’s named PGA TOUR golf game,” read the announcement.

“We’ve always been big fans of Tiger and we wish him continued success in all his future endeavors.”

EA isn’t abandoning the franchise, but from now on will be branded exclusively with the PGA Tour.
