US publisher DMi Inc picks up franchise

Eutechnyx sells off NASCAR assets

Update: A Eutechnyx spokesperson has clarified that the sale includes art assets from the NASCAR games including car, track and driver models.

There have been no job cuts as a result of the deal.

"Since 2010 we’ve built up a successful game franchise which consequently made it attractive and appealing for other parties as well," a spokesperson told Develop.

"Our focus is on the success of Auto Club Revolution both in China and globally. Our resources and focus can now be directed to ACR which is where we see the future of the gaming business for us."

Original story: Eutechnyx has sold off the rights to the development of NASCAR games.

The studio has accepted an offer for “certain parts of its assets related to NASCAR” from US publisher DMi Inc, and will no longer work on the franchise it first took on in 2010.

The developer has said it will continue working on its online racing title Auto Club Revolution.

Develop has asked for clarification on exact specifics of the deal and any jobs that may be affected.

In February last year Eutechnyx laid off 12 staff as part of restructuring efforts at the studio.

In July, the firm entered consultation with a further 19 members of staff as it continued restructuring its business and spun off its Zerolight division – which creates virtual 3D showrooms to demonstrate cars to potential buyers – as a separate entity.
