Robert Goldberg to leave but still advise

Former Tecmo Koei boss to usurp Zynga Japan CEO

Kenji Matsubara, the former Tecmo Koei CEO, is to join Zynga’s Japanese business arm.

Matsubara will begin his duties on May 9th.

The social studio’s current CEO of Japan operations, Robert Goldberg, will step down but is said will advise Matsubara in a consultancy role.

Goldberg said he was “very pleased” with Kenji Matsubara appointment.

Matsubara became the CEO of Tecmo Koei in 2007, where he had worked since 2001. He had resigned for reasons that the company had never stated.

Zynga is one of the world’s fastest growing companies, having cracked the free-to-play and Facebook games models. It was recently valued at $7 billion upwards.
