New games developers can access free office space at a growing digital enterprises hub in the North West of England.
Run by MediaCityUK, Salford-based The Landing has launch a pilot scheme that will give start-ups a shared workspace, connectivity and other facilities in its Propeller Room.
The project will last for six months, and has been designed to create a studio space that meets the specific needs of gaming and interactive companies. Those who qualify and sign up will also have access to a media lounger that can serve as place to hold meetings and networking events.
More than 100 companies are registered as tenants at The Landing, many of which are games studios.
"Having worked closely with the gaming community on a number of projects over the last two years, what has become increasingly clear is that we have a wealth of talent that struggles to find studio space which is both cost effective and appropriate to the games sector," said The Landing's partnership director Ann Darby.
"By bringing companies into The Landing and creating a space like the Propellor Room, it gives firms a fantastic platform from which to build upon and gives us a pipeline of the north west's best gaming start-ups. This will pay dividends to us and the wider local economy in the future and is a genuine win-win."
