Valve's Gabe Newell has been announced as the opening keynote speaker for the 2009 D.I.C.E. summit.
"Gabe Newell has been a leader in the games industry for more than a decade, not only as a creator of best-selling games, but as an innovator in how games are marketed and sold," said Joseph Olin, president of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.
"With the industry poised to explore new ways to entertain the growing legions of game players, Gabe's perspective and vision are an appropriate way to open this year's Summit."
