Events series shows support for ceremony by signing up as Category Partner

Game Connection backs Develop Awards

Game Connection has shown its support for the Develop Industry Excellence Awards by signing up as Category Sponsor.

The only peer-voted awards for the UK and European games industry, the Develop Awards are this year taking place on July 11th at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton. Game Connection is Category Sponsor for the Studios category, which recognises the best teams making games in today’s industry.

Places at the awards are selling fast, so if you want to attend, be sure to secure your seat or table as soon as possible.

"Supporting the Develop Industry Excellence Awards 2012 and sponsoring the Studios Category means a lot to us," said Pierre Carde, CEO of Game Connection.

"We care about development for many reasons. As long as it doesn’t have anything to do with football or rugby, we have a great appreciation of British teams. This is not only because the UK is home to the largest development community in Europe, but also because over the years we have built up very close and trusting relationships with the local and national associations as well as with most of the major independent studios in the UK."

Since 2001 Game Connection has been the key networking event for video games professionals. It gathers key players from the game industry three times a year, in Europe, America and Asia, to help them do business together, connect, share and socialise in a lively environment.

"We also care about indies," he revealed. "To make sure creativity is adequately promoted, in 2009 we launched Game Connection Selected Projects which provides an opportunity for new – and established – independent studios to showcase their projects to a selected group of buyers and investors. There are often numerous UK indies in the top 20.

"The market is currently shifting significantly and the ‘fog of war’ has never been thicker than today. New markets are emerging while some older segments are in trouble. At Game Connection, our business is to make sure we help you face these challenges by introducing you to new business partners and making sure we provide you with up-to-the-minute expertise through master classes and conferences.

"Congratulations to all the well-deserved nominees of the awards and enjoy Brighton in July. We can’t wait to see you at Game Connection Europe in Paris this November 28th to 30th, 2012."

Just a few places are left, so if you want to attend the Awards ceremony contact Kathryn.Humphrey@intentmedia.co.uk as soon as possible.
