A two-day conference dedicated to exploring monetisation will be held in London later this month.
Game Monetisation Europe once again brings together experts from both developers and publishers, with a particular focus on the top-grossing firms from mobile and online games.
Organised by Video Games Intelligence, it will be held from Wednesday, April 29th to Thursday, April 30th at the Park Plaza Victoria hotel in London.
Speakers already lined up include experts from Facebook, Google, Sony, Bigpoint, Kabam, Gameloft and more. There will also be networking opportunities for attendees.
“Games penetrate deeper ad adoption and consumer spending continues to rise, offering unrivalled financial reward,” says director James Harding. “But as an industry we’ve not been able to develop strategies to consistently monetise across all our titles.
“As development and game management costs continue to rise, pressure piles on to acquire and monetise users better than we currently are.”
In fact, research shows that only three per cent of mobile users become active players, and only two per cent of mobile games companies break even.
While there are plenty of monetisation strategies out there – particularly in the mobile space – Harding argues the industry needs to define the ones that offer the best opportunities to maximise revenues from games.
