Events for students and studios take place in Manchester and London at the end of April

Games Grads returns

After a successful debut in 2007, the graduate games career fair events Games Grads are to return in April.

Two events are to take place, catering to the north and south talent bases in the UK – a London event takes place on April 24th, while a Manchester one takes place on April 29th.

This year the events will host a comprehensive seminar program offering practical, real life advice on how graduates can breakinto the games industry and what to expect when they get there.

At Games Grads Manchester, organiser Tandem Events and Pixel Labs is running Games:Edu North, following on from the successful Games:Edu events that have run alongside the Develop conference and expo in Brighton for the past two years.

“We created Games Grads specifically for under- and post-graduates who have a keen interest in this industry or are already on computer and video games courses but need additional help and guidance to get their foot in the door of one of the most creative and economically successful industries in the UK,” commented Andy Lane, managing director of Tandem Events.

“In our very first year, more than 500 students visited the fairs from 52 universities and colleges across the UK. Games Grads obviously filled a very real need among both students and the industry, and we’re delighted to be bringing them back for a second time.”
