Wargaming has taken its hugely successful free-to-play MMO World of Tanks to smartphones and tablets.
Called World of Tanks Blitz, the MMO spin-off has been developed specifically for mobile, and features several of the game’s nations such as USA, Germany and the USSR, as well as the usual large roster of tanks.
The game will use touch control, and Wargaming claims the title will feature “console quality” visuals as well as “realistic physics”.
Up to 14 players will be able to face off against each other in PvP battles, and users will also be able to use their Wargaming.net ID from the PC version to log into the mobile title.
World of Tanks Blitz will be released on iOS and Android devices, although no launch date has been given.
"With World of Tanks Blitz we're doing our best to give players a gaming experience that would rival anything they could find on a console," said Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi.
"We've always been committed to bringing World of Tanks to new platforms and we're excited to give players a chance to experience the game in a whole new way."
