Metismo’s Bedrock mobile cross-platform converter now includes web compatability for HTML5 and Flash.
The expansion means that Bedrock can now deploy apps across all mobile platforms, including phones, handheld consoles and the web.
“Support of web output has been a consideration since we first designed the Bedrock architecture – the first Flash based title cross-compiled using Bedrock was released at the end of 2007,” said John Chasey, CEO of Metismo.
“However with the significant penetration pf HTML5 now in the marketrplace we feel the time is right to extend Bedrock beyond the mobile and handheld sectors into online as well.”
He went on to say that content developers want to get their content to as many users as possible, whatever platform they are using, and that Bedrock gives them the widest choice of distribution channels available.
Bedrock tech converts Java source code to C++, and is available to studios on site licence.
