MOBA pushed to 2016 as 16 employees depart the company

Gigantic studio Motiga lays off staff, delays title

The developer behind upcoming MOBA Gigantic has been struck by a series of job losses.

Motiga originally announced the five-on-five free-to-play title back in mid-2014, with a PC and Xbox One release planned for this year.

However, the outlet has now announced that its plans to push the game’s release into 2016 in order to respond to testing phase feedback.

The delay has had a knock-on effect on the studio, with the extra resource cost required resulting in 16 staff being laid off.

In a statement, Motiga said that all those affected would receive severance and job placement assistance.

It closed by stating that a revised production roadmap would be revealed soon, which would confirm the ‘state and direction’ of Gigantic.
