Google has reportedly purchased Android gaming tech firm Green Throttle, along with all of its technology.

The company was responsible for a service that allowed users to pair a gaming controller with a console-style interface, converting any Android smartphone or tablet into something akin to a microconsole.

The Green Throttle service was discontinued in November, but now the company is part of Google, according to GamaSutra.

The terms of the acquistion have not been revealed, but it is reported that two of Green Throttle's co-founders - Matt Crowley and Karl Townsend - have joined Google.

This will no doubt fuel rumours that Google is building its own Android console.
