GungHo Entertainment has four games each generating around $1m per month in revenue.
CEO Kazuki Morishita said, in an interview with Bloomberg, that the Japanese publisher has six profitable title overall, with four of those breaking ¥100 million (£583,576; $980,000) every month.
That isn’t good enough for the Morishita, however, who said that company can’t rest on its laurels in the competitive mobile market.
“We need to keep producing innovative games,” he said. “I don’t think we can be content with the current situation.”
Puzzle & Dragons has been one of GungHo’s biggest successes, which will have influenced Morishita’s thinking. It had been generated around $4 million every day during the peak of its popularity.
Revenues like that encourage SoftBank to buy a $250 million stake in the company last year.
