Games industry veteran Ian Hetherington has once again been linked to the acquisition of former Realtime Worlds game Project MyWorld.
A Gamasutra report says the man who formed Psygnosis and ran SCEE before co-founding Realtime Worlds has formed a new business to buy the game.
And filings with Companies House certainly back up the claim.
Hetherington, plus other former RTW execs Patrick Chung and Harry Weller, were all appointed as directors of new outfit Kimble Operations last week.
The latest report about MyWorld says that said Kimble firm has purchased the MyWorld user-generated-content project from administrator Begbies Traynor.
Its just one of the assets up for sale as part of the RTW collapse – Begbies Traynor is also hoping to sell off the APB game rights and assets.
According to Companies House documents, Kimble was originally incorporated, with the aid of business law firm Olswang LLP, on July 30th. (Under the name ‘New Inc Co’, a relatively common name for new companies that need incorporating but aren’t willing to disclose their name officially.)
Project MyWorld was originally unveiled on July 29th.
Realtime Worlds officially went into administration just over two weeks later, on August 17th.
