Release date moved to March as IO Interactive adds more content for launch

Hitman delayed to 2016

IO Interactive has delayed the Hitman release date until March 2016.

In a statement, the studio said the extra months would be used to add more launch content than originally planned. It then aims to add extra content through regular updates at a "tighter frequency".

The move comes after some confusion surrounding the studio’s plan to release the game and then continue development post-release. A number of consumers were unclear on exactly how much content they would have access to from the start, and what they would get in the long-term.

In an effort to alleviate concerns, developer IO Interactive has released a comparison of the level size and number of targets between the new Hitman and Hitman Absolution. It claims that Paris – The Showstopper is six times larger that Streets of Hope from the latter game.

The studio has said it will share more details about the full release schedule next week.
