How to make an Android game with the Phaser HTML5 framework

One of the most popular posts on Intel Developer Zone in April was a guide to making a simple game using the Phaser HTML5 Framework.

The game is aimed at young children and enables them to use an Android smartphone to learn animal sounds, but it also provides a great way for you to learn Phaser and see how easy it is to make an app with it.

Phaser is a lightweight 2D game framework, and it’s supported within the free Intel® XDK, so you can quickly create a template file as a starting point. The Intel XDK also has a built-in web server that you can use for the app, which simplifies your set-up and testing.

In the tutorial, you’ll learn how to display and transform sprites, how to tween animations, how to use frame animations, and how to add labels and sounds. The tutorial includes a link to download image art that you can use (including commercially), so you can quickly get started.
