Industry icon Ian Livingstone will be speaking at next month’s Dare ProtoPlay event in Dundee.
The conference will be based on the theme of ‘independence and convergence culture’, and will take a look at where the game industry meets art, film and television.
Livingstone’s talk will take place on August 8th, and he will discuss his experiences building a number of businesses such as Games Workshop, and where he thinks the game industry is moving to in future.
“Dare to be Digital is an excellent example of how universities should prepare graduates to work in the games industry, by giving them the opportunity to see a project through from start to finish – and then put it on show to thousands of members of the public,” said Livingstone.
“I’m very pleased to be returning to Dundee to speak at the Dare ProtoPlay conference, share my experiences with the next generation of games entrepreneurs, and meet the other games developers bringing our industry together with the arts, film and television.”
Other speakers set to attend the Dare ProtoPlay conference include Bossa Studios creator-in-chief Imre Jele, Channel 4 games commissioning editor Colin Macdonald, The Story Mechanics creative director Simon Meek, SwallowTail’s Sophia George and Quartic Llama’s Tom deMajo.
Also taking place during Dare ProtoPlay will be the showcase for Dare to be Digital contestants, which is open to the public from August 8th to August 11th.
