The Game Attorney’s Tom Buscaglia heading up organisation for 2014

IGDA elects new chairman

The International Game Developers Association has appointed Tom Buscaglia as its new chairman.

Buscaglia is head of law firm The Game Attorney – which he is also known as – and returned to the IGDA board for a third term starting in 2013 before being elected this year as chairman. He has been involved with the organisation on the board of directors since 2005.

During the April board meeting, Tap Slots GM Jon Grande was elected as IGDA secretary and former Microsoft Studios VP Ed Fries was re-elected as treasurer. PlaysTogether CEO Dustin Clingman meanwhile has been named chair emeritus.

Justin Berenbaum, Jon Grande and Anne Toole have also joined the board as first-term members.

Robot Overlord Games founder Luke Dicken has taken Buscaglia’s previous position as chairman of the charitable IGDA Foundation for 2014.

“I think we have a great team this year which should make my tenure as IGDA chair that much easier,” said Buscaglia.

“I look forward to a productive and fun year ahead for the IGDA.”
