Swadesh Animation to use AI tools for upcoming MMOG title

Indian licensing deal for Xaitment

Indian studio Swadesh Animation has entered into a licensing contract with Xaitment for the use of four of the latter’s AI game tools in upcoming MMOG Online Tales.

The title is being developed by Swadesh Animation alongside RZ2 Games, which is headed by former NFL GameDay producer Chris Whaley.

XaitMap, XaitControl, XaitThink and XaitKnow will all be used to flesh out the game mechanics and NPC abilities.

“XaitThink and XaitKnow will allow Online Tales to implement – for the first time in MMOG’s – rich ruleset-based learning behaviors in NPCs with varying levels of complexity,” said Swadesh Animation president Prasenjit Medhi.

“An NPC might learn from the experience of thefts from his home, while a more complex NPC could be made despotic or timid, mimicking human behaviors as he attacks or raids others. Online Tales will perhaps be the first living, human-like world, thanks to Xaitment.”

“It’s an absolute pleasure working with Swadesh Animation and their co-developers RZ2 Games,” said Xaitment’s group CEO, Dr. Andreas Gerber.

“Prasenjit has been an enthusiastic partner from the beginning, and we are excited to see the finished game. The implementation of technology including Xaitment’s AI tools will give the development team not only huge time and cost saving advantages, but also an edge over other MMOGs.”
