This Hamburg outsourcing firm is ready to serve your art, coding and design needs

Interview: iLogos Europe

German-based outsourcer iLogos is an outfit that’s ready to assist across all areas of games development.

Since 2006, the firm, which now has a headcount in excess of 200 staff, has been providing 2D and 3D art creation and design services, programming, game design, ongoing maintenance, project management, QA and additional services, such as porting and games optimisation.

“We are a highly professional games development company with extensive experience, a great track record and strong references,” iLogos Europe CEO and co-founder Alexander Goldybin tells Develop.

The company has completed more than 300 projects, with its experience primarily being in social, browser, mobile and cross-platform games. iLogos has worked on game productions for companies including Peak Games, Playdom, Disney Interactive, Wargaming, National Geographic Games, Xyrality, Social Quantum, Nekki, 6waves, Upjers, FreshPlanet and Youdagames.

For contract work specifically, some of the studio’s most successful titles include, Megapolis for Social Quantum on Facebook, iOS and Android, a top five grossing app in 40 countries with 20 million players across all platforms; and Vector, Shadow Fight and 11×11 Football Manager for Nekki on Facebook, which have each attracted players in their millions.

There are several main reasons that Goldybin says developers should come to iLogos for their outscoring needs. For starters, he says the saving on operating costs typically range from 20 per cent to 60 per cent. It will accelerate the project’s time-to-market, and, as a result of spreading the workload out to an external firm, the client will be able to direct their attention to other projects and business matters.

For ongoing developments especially, he believes external teams are highly effective. With the help of an external development partner, he adds that a developer can scale up or down teams to reflect their current needs, such as any shortage of local skills and resources, and can avoid burning out its workforce.

Goldybin adds: “In short, usually developers can save a good amount of money for game creation or for live game operation by using an external development partner such as iLogos with a significant acceleration of time-to-market. The best strategy is to focus on the existing strengths in-house and to add the missing parts by using a reliable external development partner.”

International expansion is next on the company’s agenda. Currently, iLogos is focused on the European and the US markets, but is playing special attention to Asia. Furthermore, it is gradually extending the number of co-productions and encouraging developers of all sizes to approach it with project proposals based on a mutual co-investment.

“By choosing us, you’re working with a company that has created and/or supported a number of the top games on the international games market, and will share its know-how and expertise with you to do the same with your games and game ideas,” offers Goldybin.
