Casual developer praises AppStore following release of Diner Dash for iPhone

iPhone has sparked “profound market change” says Playfirst

Diner Dash publisher PlayFirst says that the mobile games market is finally swinging to favour games developers – and that’s mostly due to the attitude change sparked by the iPhone’s AppStore.

The comments came following the release of Diner Dash for the Apple handset. It’s the first time the multi-million selling franchise has hit Apple’s hardware.

"Apple has effected profound market change with the App Store, enabling developers to unleash their creativity directly to a global market for the first time without ‘permission’ from the mobile carriers," commented John Welch, co-founder and CEO, PlayFirst.
