Italian conference's organisers detail expanded sessions list

IVDC 2010 speaker program confirmed

The organisers of the 2010 Italian Videogame Developers Conference have unveiled the speaker program for the event.

Along with sessions from Phil Harrison, former president of Sony Worldwide Studios, and Avni Yerli, managing director of Crytek, IVDC’s opening day will welcome speakers including KooPee Hiltunen, co-founder of the European Game Developers Federation, SpinVector CEO Giovanni Caturano, Palzoun executive producer Daniele Azara, and Irvin Zonca, head of racing group with Milestone Studios.

On its second day Andrea Pessino, co founder of Ready at Dawn studios, Riccardo Cangini, CEO of Artematica and Jason Della Rocca, the AIOMI’s international consultant on the new video game museum project ViGaMus will all take to the stage.

Also hosting sessions on the Saturday are Peter Warman, managing director of games industry market research consultancy Newzoo, Fabrizio Vagliasindi, strategic corporate coordinator of Black Bean Games, and Cornelius Wiegmann, head of marketing for audio specialists at Periscope Studio.

“Over the past three years, the IVDC has grown from a national event, to an international conference on the world stage," said Marco Accordi Rickards, director and chairman of the IVDC.

"We are delighted to have so many leading Italian companies sharing their ideas, and to have so many international speakers for this year’s event shows just how important the Italian video games industry is becoming.”

Taking place in Rome from Friday 3rd to Saturday 4th December, IVDC also includes a specially arranged closing session by Lionhead’s Peter Molyneux on Monday 6th December.

“Our entire focus is to help build the Italian video games industry into a world leader, but to do this, we need to help, motivate and inspire a whole range of visitors to IVDC 2010," added Accordi Rickards. "Our guest speakers will cover an extensive range of subjects during the event so everyone attending will find something of interest.”
