Famed director teams up with Infinity Blade developer Chair

JJ Abrams enters game development with Spyjinx

Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams is working on a video game.

The esteemed film director has teamed up with Infinity Blade and Shadow Complex developer Chair to work on a new action strategy game called Spyjinx.

The title has been confirmed for PC, smartphones and tablets although it seems that there is also the hope it could come to consoles. It’s not clear what part Abrams himself is playing in the project, although he insists his production company Bad Robot has been hoping to break into games for some time.

“Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Spyjinx is a unique mix of action strategy gameplay, dynamic world building and RPG character development – all set in a thrilling, treacherous world of espionage,” the official site states.

A beta is currently scheduled for June 2016.
