Source claims around ten employees let go as studio shifts priorities for future projects

Job losses hit Harmonix

Rock Band developer Harmonix has laid off a number employees, it has confirmed.

As reported by Polygon, the company cited shifting priorities for the studio as the reason for the job losses.

Although stating there were a small number of redundancies, it did not reveal exactly how many staff had been let go. A source has claimed however that the layoffs affected around ten employees.

"We can confirm that a small number of Harmonix employees were let go today," read a statement from Harmonix.

"This decision was made due to shifting staffing priorities for Harmonix’s multiple future projects."

The news comes as it’s reported that Harmonix has hired BioShock 2 lead designer Zak McClendon as design director at the studio.
