'Our development resources have grown exponentially by joining the Kabam family' says Wild Shadow founder

Kabam acquires Realm of the Mad God studio

Kabam has acquired Wild Shadow, the studio behind the indie 8 bit shooter MMO Realm of the Mad God.

Realm of the Mad God – an IGF technical achievment finalist – is part action shooter, part RPG, and up to 85 players can group together to take on Oryx, the Mad God.

Kabam is known for MMO and mobile titles like The Godfather: Five Familes, Dragons of Atlantis, Edgeworld, and Kingodoms of Camelot, making this acquisition a departure from the usual company aesthetic.

“Kabam is quickly expanding our portfolio and we remain focused on delivering the highest quality multiplayer games across genres and across platforms” said Kabam President Andrew Sheppard.

“Wild Shadow has created an incredible game with a passionate community and Kabam is energized to give this talented indie team even more development and distribution muscle to bring their vision to life.”

Kabam plans to use its multiplatform distribution technology to bring the game to a wider audience than ever,

“This is awesome news for fans of Realm of the Mad God,” said Alex Carobus, founder of Wild Shadow Studios.

“Our development resources have grown exponentially by joining the Kabam family. Look for tons of new content in the coming months.”

Realm of the Mad God is playable for free at the Kabam Website.
