Katamari Damacy designer to present Vision Statement

Keita Takahashi to speak at GameCity 2007

Namco Bandai designer Keita Takahashi will be speaking at 2007’s GameCity event in Nottingham.

Takahashi, who shot into the public eye with his quirky hit Katamari Damacy, will be presenting the Vision Statement segment, a platform for personal creative perspectives from game industry stars.

"I haven’t had the chance to consider my plans for the day just yet but I’m definitely ready to enjoy myself!” commented Takahashi. “I’m hoping to share some of my works at the event so let’s hope everyone can join me in October!”

Festival director Iain Simons added: "We’re enormously excited that Keita has chosen to participate in the GameCity festival and deliver the Vision Statement keynote. This really is a unique opportunity for gamers to spend some quality time in the company of one of the most exciting developers working today."

GameCity 2007 follows on from last year’s successful debut in celebrating the culture and development of videogames, with Frontier, Travellers Tales and SCEE being just a few of the studios to have already announced involvement.

The festival takes place across Nottingham from October 24th – 28th, with more details said to be forthcoming over the next few weeks.
