Online strategy game maker opens Victoria, BC office

Kixeye opens Canadian studio

Kixeye continues to push for growth, and has opened a new studio in Victoria, British Columbia.

The San Francisco developer of online multiplayer strategy games already opened an office in Brisbane, Australia this year.

This brings the total number of studios for the company to three, with two located internationally.

With "special projects" already planned for the new branch, the company is working fast to hire developers.

"Our search for top talent is not limited by international boundaries,” said Kixeye CEO Will Harbin.

“Victoria is a hotbed of technical talent and Clayton and his team have aggressive goals to expand KIXEYE Canada.”

The team will have newly appointed general manager Clayton Stark at the helm, formerly Zynga’s director of development.

"Victoria is exploding with engineering talent and is one of the largest tech hubs outside of Silicon Valley, especially for game companies,” said Stark.

“It’s also consistently ranked among the most beautiful cities in the world, and we’re setting up KIXEYE Canada right along the inner harbor at Bastion Square. For developers, it doesn’t get any better than working on projects they’re super passionate about, and having an incredible amount of fun while doing it.”
